Staging/Wave Starts
Staging will begin at 8:00 a.m. for all events. See start area and corral map here. It is each participant's responsibility to be in her start corral 30 minutes prior to event start time. Participant bib colors will match the start corral colors as shown on the map. Look for colored flags for your start area. Volunteers will direct participants to the correct start area and to the start line.
An elite corral is reserved for runners who completed the 2011 Alaska Run for Women in 35:35 or better (pace 7:07/mile). Runners with elite status will enter the starting area via the 1-mile corral and be escorted to the starting line after the 1-mile race is underway. Runners who did not participate in the 2011 event can email run@akrfw.org with documented race results to petition for access to the elite corral.

Clothes Drop 16th Avenue between A St. & Gambell, and Cordova & 15th Avenue will be closed to traffic at 7:30 a.m. sharp in order to set up the start line. After 7:30 a.m., enter the Sullivan Arena from Gambell St. Vehicles will not be able to leave the Sullivan Arena parking lot until after the race start is complete (approximately 10AM). Be respectful of private homes and businesses - do not park in private parking areas.
