Start/Finish
Both the five mile race and the one mile fun walk/run will start on 16th near the Sullivan Arena and end on the AFS track

Staging for One Mile - Stage at 8:45 AM - Run start at 9:00 AM

  1. All runners, walkers and strollers in the one mile line up at appropriate signs behind the ONE MILE sign.

  2. Runners line up at the front behind the One Mile sign.

  3. Strollers line up behind all runners and walkers. Please, no running with strollers.

ChampionChip Electronic Timing

The 5 Mile event will be timed using the ChampionChip Timing system. Use of the chip will help get faster and more accurate race results to you. Please follow the instructions attached to the envelope containing the Chip that was given to you with your bib. Be sure to lace the Chip to your shoe. It will not work unless it is on your shoe. Make sure the number on the top of the envelope matches your Bib number. At the finish there will be volunteers to help you remove the Chip. Chips MUST be returned. If anyone chooses NOT to run/walk on run date, please return the chip either at registration, or on race day to a race official, or mail it back (wrapped in bubble wrap) to AK Run for Women, PO Box 230929, Anchorage, AK 99523. You will be charged $35 if you do not return your Chip.

Race merchandise
T-shirts and other race merchandise will be available for sale at Registration and Bib Pick-up at the University Center and at the race in the infield. Alaska Run for Women Merchandise goes fast – don’t wait until the day of the run to make your purchase. Buy your goodies early while they are still available!
 Race merchandise page.

Strollers and baby joggers
Because of safety and insurance issues, participants are only allowed to walk with strollers or baby joggers. Please, NO RUNNING!  Strollers and baby joggers must line up behind the walkers at both the 5-mile and 1-mile starts. The stroller event is a noncompetitive walk-only event. Participants will be given special commemorative bibs, but will not have timed results.  Also, no roller blades, wagons or pets.

Teams
Gather five or more individuals and register as a Team! Each individual team member should register and indicate their team name on the application. Each individual will pick up their own bib at any of the times listed in Registration & Bib Pick-up -- there is no team pick-up. If any questions, please contact teams@akrfw.org.

Awards
Awards will be given to the top 15 finishers; the top master’s finisher (age 40 & over); and the top six in each of the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25- 29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 & better.
