2008 Alaska Run for Women Volunteer Form

The 2008 Run for Women will be held on Saturday, June 14th, beginning at 8:30 AM., at Mulcahy Stadium. The Run is a 100% all-volunteer event, and we would be thrilled if you would join us. All proceeds go toward preventing and finding a cure for breast cancer, with 70% going to local efforts and 30% to national efforts.

Bundle & Distribute Race Posters – April 8 - May 14th

Distribute posters to designated locations

 

Computer Bib/Chip Matching

We will need approximately 20 to 30 people to match computer chips with bibs.
If you are interested, check this box and we will give you a call with date, time, place etc.

Wednesday, June 11th, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, (Wasilla – Alaska Club 1720 East Parks Highway)

Thursday, June 12th, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

 

Data Entry - May 1- June 7th

Flexible hours -- We need a team of volunteers who have good eyes and fast fingers to input the race participants into the RUN FOR WOMEN database.
Background in data entry and familiarity with Windows needed.

Day 1 During Registration June 7th 10AM - 3PM

Day 2 During Registration June 10th 4PM - 7PM

Day 3 During Registration June 12th 4PM - 7PM
 

Friday before race day- June 13th

Food Pick Up Noon to 6:00PM
Course set up and logistics 3:00 - 7:00 PM. (Please note if you have truck that can be used)
Food Choppers - Cut up fruit for race day. 6:00 – 8:00 PM (BP Energy Center)
Helium tanks pick up & return – Driver with open bed pick up truck to drive 8 tanks of compressed helium to Race Stare on Friday before 5 pm; and then pick up helium tanks at noon & return to vendor Air Liquid. MUST be OPEN bed truck. Help is needed loading and unloading.

Day of Race -- June 14th

Balloon arch - fill balloons 6:00 am - 8:30 am
Set-up/logistics 6:00 am - 8:30 am
Packet pickup 7:00 am - 8:30 am
Stroller/one mile helper 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Course helpers 8:30 am - 10:30 am (We need a few folks on bicycles as well as several on foot)
Chip retrievers 9:00 am - Noon
Water stations 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Food set-up at finish line 7:30 am - 9:30 am
Finish line helper 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Tabulation/awards ceremony preparation 9:00 am - Noon
Clean up 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

 

Special Needs on Race Day -- June 14th

Clowns for entertainment during stroller event 8:30 am to 11:00 am
People with pickup trucks to help with set up and clean up 6:00 am to 1:00 pm
