The Run for Women and Tammy Morton-Bilak are linked together through Chugach Alaska Corp. Everybody knew Tammy was the Queen of Pink and this was her time with fund raising and organizing. She was also instrumental in turning the Trent Waldron 10k and Half Marathon into a fund raising event for the Anchorage Young Cancer Coalition. Tammy was a board member of the Anchorage Running Club and an avid triathlete. Tammy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and was cancer free in 2018. Unfortunately the cancer came back in 2021. Tammy died in February of 2023. She was always willing to talk about her fight with anyone, and wanted to inspire other women that had breast cancer.
